Our History

The Northwest Vintage Thunderbird Club of Oregon was founded in 1980, created from a shared passion for one of America’s most iconic automobiles. Originally starting with a few Thunderbird owners, the club had forty-five members in the Portland, OR by the end of the first year.

Our members have been dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the Ford Thunderbird, from the early 1955 Baby birds to the 2005 Retorbirds. Over the years, we’ve shown our beloved Thunderbirds at countless car shows, parades, and events.

Today, the Northwest Vintage Thunderbird Club continues to evolve. We blend our rich history with a forward-looking approach by welcoming new members, and sharing our passion with the next generation of car enthusiasts. Whether it’s restoring a Thunderbird to perfection, cruising along scenic highways, or simply swapping stories and tips, our club is dedicated to celebrating these incredible cars and the people who love them.
